Humanitarian Awards Gala
Tuesday, April 9, 2019
Our signature event brings top executives and community leaders together in their shared commitment to the mission of the American Conference on Diversity (ACOD).
Now in its 71st year, this initiative aims to raise $250,000 in philanthropic support. An investment in this event allows ACOD to expand its programs, including their Lead for Diversity Institute; a year long, life-changing program that, since 1995, has had more than 3,300 participating high-school graduates. Lead for Diversity Institute provides leadership-development and human-relations training empowering youth to stand up against hate, educate their peers, and be better prepared to enter today’s workplace.
“INCLUSION is measured by how DELIBERATE and INTENTIONAL interactions are when cultural differences intersect,” says Elizabeth Williams-Riley, ACOD President and CEO. “And during this rising tide of intolerance, inequality, and injustice it is more important than ever to amplify your commitment to empower individuals and institutions to address issues of bias and discrimination – advocating for meaningful social change in our communities.”
