The increased mainstreaming of hate in our society is careless and dangerous to millions of people of all races, religions, cultures and abilities. Transgender Equity, Black Lives Matter, Muslims for Peace, Women’s Rights, Fair Wages and the list goes on. Every day new headlines reveal the realities of how important diversity and inclusion are to the fabric of this world. We also learn the ugly truth of the harmful impact of bias and bigotry.

We have a collective responsibility to make sure we preserve the richness of humanity by promoting respect and understanding. We cannot let the “sound bites of bigotry” divide our nation. How can we protect our borders from threats if we can’t protect the people within these borders from hatred?

We must continue to live out the true meaning of our nation’s creed that “all are created equal.” This is the “unfinished business” of America and the challenge we present to our future leaders.

The American Conference on Diversity is dedicated to promoting respect through awareness, leadership education, and advocacy. It is our vision to create an inclusive society for all of us — not just some of us.
